Company Background:

The Everglades Youth Conservation Camp is owned and operated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. We are part of the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network with our focus on creating the next generation that cares. EYCC offers 10 conservation-oriented programs each summer to children who have completed 3rd grade to high school. We are a sleep away summer camp; therefore staff and children live onsite from Sunday to Friday of each week. Daily activities include Archery, Swimming, Paddle Sports, and Fishing. The position includes free housing and meals for the entire summer camp season!

Experience: We are looking to hire someone who has any type of education experience. Preferred candidates will have some experience with archery or bowhunting.

Outdoor Archers Program: Experience advanced archery with our Outdoor Archers program! This program uses advanced compound bows with adjustable sights and release aids, designed to kindle a passion for advanced archery and offer a gateway to various recreational pursuits. Join us for an exciting archery adventure, with lessons, 3-D range shooting, and an introduction to bow hunting. Note: campers of any archery experience level do well in this program. To participate in this program campers should be able to pull back 35 lbs with one arm

Position Responsibilities

• Implements the bowhunting program to 6th – 8th grade campers.
• Supervise campers according to American Camp Association supervision standards and manage camper behavior
• Monitor health and wellbeing of campers according to your level of certification
• Conduct daily checks of equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.

Position Requirements

• May 23rd CPR Training
• May 26th - May 31st for All Staff Training
• June 2nd - July 26th for all 8 weeks of summer camp
• Note: Some instructor positions require additional training in May. A detailed training calendar will be sent to applicants during the hiring process
• Valid Form of a Photo ID and Social Security Card
• No criminal record
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to apply

Position Details and Benefits

• $620 per week. Salary is flat rate, not hourly.
• Day off: Saturdays
• Hours: Instructors typically work from 7:30am to 6:30pm and are off in the evenings. Instructors must be back at camp by midnight.
